At the heart of piano study is the relationship between musical imagination and coordinated movement—allowing pianists to play with beauty of tone, physical ease, and artistic freedom.
Instruction is offered for pianists seeking greater coordination, expressive control, and reliability at the keyboard. The studio offers 8-week seasonal sessions (Fall, Winter, and Spring) designed to provide focused periods of study. Consultation lessons may also be scheduled on an ad-hoc basis depending on the student’s needs.
McLelland is also available to present workshops and masterclasses for schools, universities, and music teacher organizations. At The Piano Arts Studio, students are guided to grow into confident, expressive, and technically secure musicians. Through thoughtful, structured study in performance, composition, and collaborative piano, they develop both artistry and ease at the instrument.
Instruction is grounded in principles of healthy, coordinated movement at the piano, enabling students to play with freedom, efficiency, and lasting comfort. When technique works naturally, musical expression can flourish without strain or limitation. Students of all ages build strong technical foundations, beautiful tone, creative imagination, and confident performance skills. Whether just beginning or advancing into more demanding repertoire, each student is encouraged to play with clarity, control, and joy. Discipline and delight belong together. In a calm and focused environment, serious study unfolds alongside the deep satisfaction that comes from meaningful musical growth. 🎹 Instruction: Piano, Theory, Technic, Musicianship Enrollment occurs in 8-Week Seasonal Sessions - Fall, Winter, Spring. Each session combines weekly in-person private study with structured virtual follow-up, along with group masterclass participation, performance opportunities, and all music and materials. Instruction unfolds across the academic calendar to allow for thoughtful pacing and seasonal breaks. At Piano Arts Studio, we believe musical growth happens best within focused periods of studio. Our 8-week sessions provide purposeful training blocks where technique, musicianship, and repertoire develop together. Rather than drifting through lessons week after week, students work within a clear arc of study -- building confidence, skill, and artistic awareness with each session. Families appreciate the clarity of a defined commitment, and students thrive when working toward meaningful short-term achievements within a thoughtfully designed plan, with clear goals, measurable progress, and natural checkpoints for growth.
