THE PIANO ARTS STUDIO
Picture
Welcome to Piano Arts Studio, the virtual home of pianist, teacher, composer, and lecturer Amy Aberg McLelland. My work explores the art of expressive sound through performance, teaching, composition, and lecture. Central to this work is the relationship between musical imagination and coordinated, healthy movement at the keyboard—principles that allow pianists of all levels to play with freedom, beauty of tone, and lasting ease. My teaching draws in part on the pioneering work of Dorothy Taubman and the tradition of coordinated piano technique that emphasizes efficiency, balance, and musical expression.

Whether performing, teaching, adjudicating, composing, or speaking about the art of piano playing, my goal is always the same: to help music come alive through beautiful sound, thoughtful movement, and imaginative expression.
